The MDRT world can be unforgiving and unpredictable setting when it comes to human relation interactions, and the treatments of one another and can have a negative impact on patient outcomes. The perpetual stressors of the occupation, home life, and personal hidden agendas can influence individuals to react to the environment based on their attitude in and unfavorable manner and conjure a negative culture. The presentation will probe into the root cause of an individual’s negative motives, attitude, and behaviors, as well as the thought process of how they congregate individual to form dysfunctional teams.
Meet the speaker:
Mr. Cheron Rojo is a CRCST, CIS, CER, CFER, CHL, and FCS (Fellow) and over 35 years in the Sterile Processing arena as a Sterile Processing Technician, SPD Educator, an Instrument Coordinator, and a Surgical Technologist in the Surgical realm. Mr. Rojo is currently the Senior Clinical Education Specialists for Healthmark Industries and has been with the company for over six years. and is currently on the board as President for the PWSPA (Pacific West Sterile Processing Association) Chapter that covers California, Nevada, Arizona, and Hawaii. Mr. Rojo currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. He graduated with his BS in Communication and with a certificate in Marketing in April of 2021. He graduated in 2008, with highest honors from Fresno City College with an Associates of Arts in Speech Communication specializing in public speaking and team dynamics. He is also currently on the ANSI/AAMI working groups for ST79, TIR99. And currently the co-chair for PB70 Protective Barriers. Mr. Rojo has also taught the CRCST and CIS courses since 2006 for new and existing Sterile Processing technicians. Mr. Rojo has also presented at seminars globally for numerous organizations like; APIC, SGNA, AORN, CBSPD, HSPA, and WFHSS with topics relating to the Periop arena, specializing in effective communication and insulating testing, and the struggles of Sterile Processing today. Mr. Rojo is a published author in the AORN Journal and in Surgical Products. Cheron Rojo is a member of HSPA and named the 2018 “Educator of the Year” by the Golden West Central Service Chapter. He also received his (FCS) Fellowship through HSPA in October of 2021 on a study regarding the issues surrounding insulation testing and was published in the PROCESS magazine for HSPA in 2019 and 2023. He is a great advocate for nurturing education globally and believes “Attitude is Everything!”
