Medical Device Reprocessing Technician

Island Health is seeking Medical Device Reprocessing Technicians to join our growing team. Do you have a successful completion of Sterile Supply Processing course? We want to hear from you!

Reporting to the Supervisor or Team Lead, the responsibilities of an MDR Technician include a range of of tasks. These include decontamination of carts and instruments, sterilizing items according to established guidelines, utilizing a computerized instrument tracking system, identifying defective equipment as well as replenishing supplies to various hospital departments and the Operating Room.

Victoria General Hospital and Royal Jubilee Hospital are the Island’s primary care centers for trauma, neuroscience, paediatric, microvascular/plastics, orthopedic, general, obstetric, cardiac, thoracic, renal, urological, vascular, retinal and oncology services.
