With over 30 years’ experience in the Medical Device Reprocessing Field, I began my career packaging Operating Room linen bundles in the in-house hospital laundry. After progressing to the MDR Department and realizing the critical role this profession serves in ensuring surgical instruments are clean, sterile, and well-functioning, I began a personal journey in education through both online courses and in-person classroom sessions becoming a Certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician. Moving to the largest critical care hospital in Northern Ontario, I further honed my skills as a supervisor providing leadership, mentoring, and guidance to the staff. Then relocating to Alberta, working in one of the largest sites in Alberta as a Medical Device Reprocessing Manager for 6 years.
Over the course of my career, my passion for Medical Device Reprocessing grew as I served in various roles within the Central Service Association of Ontario (CSAO) both at a chapter level and Provincial level, as well as becoming an instructor for the accredited CSAO MDRT Course and taught for 6 years in various locations in Ontario. I previously served on the board of CAMDR as the Alberta Provincial Representative from 2017 to 2019 and have been a member of the Canadian Standards Association since 2012, working on and developing standards in all aspects of Medical Device Reprocessing.
